Introduction to Zen Practice
a one-day retreat Saturday, October 3, 9-5
We’ll work with simple practices for a more peaceful and joyous life: zazen (meditation), chanting, mindful work. There will be talks, dialogue, and personal time. No previous experience or religious affiliation is required.

Fee: Voluntary donation plus $10 expenses.
Location: Mountains and Waters Farm, located between Faribault and Northfield. Directions will be given on registration.

Fee: Cost ($10 for the food and expenses) plus dana, a donation for the teacher, who donates her time.
Please arrive between 8:30 and 8:45 so we can start at 9. If you know you will be late, please do say so.
Advance registration: is needed so we can arrange food, cushions, etc. There is space for up to 14 people. After October 1, please ask whether it’s still possible to attend. When you register, please give your address and whether you can give a ride or need a ride.
Shared work: Please expect to give 15-20 minutes or more helping with the day, in addition to the “mindful work” period. Some possibilities include: arrive early to set up, stay late to clean, prepare food, wash dishes, give rides to other participants, organize ride sharing. If one of these calls to you, it’s helpful if you offer in advance.
Location and transportation: 16922 Cabot Ave, Faribault, MN. This is south of Hwy 29 (158th St). The driveway is shared by four households. Please park ON THE LEFT near the barn (which is my house). Front door is on the south side, off a deck. Please carpool!
Accessibility: While not legally wheelchair accessible, the space is relatively easy to enter with limited mobility or a wheelchair. When registering please mention if you need the convenient parking spot.
